Primate Labs has just released the latest iteration of the Geekbench 6 benchmarking suite. The platform is best know for offering one of the most popular synthetic benchmarking tests for various devices, and now the latest edition, offers many improvements over the predecessors. So let’s have a look.

The new version of Geekbench comes with a new and improved tests that benchmark the device’s CPU and GPU. Thanks to this, Primate Labs’ latest software will be capable of better assessing performance and even benchmark new application areas like augmented reality and machine learning. Talking about some of its new key features, the latest version of Geekbench adds several new tests.

This including workloads that Blur backgrounds in videoconferencing streams, it can automatically remove unwanted objects from photos, a test that detects and tags objects in photos using machine learning models, and even analyze, process, and convert text using scripting languages. The platform also offers an overhauled its multi core benchmarking tests. Unlike before, the multi core tests measures how the cores work together rather than giving each of them a separate task.

This change is quite useful for desktops and laptops that are increasingly using both and “performance” and “efficient” cores together. Furthermore, the new Geekbench 6 also brings support for Vulkan, which is a next gen cross platform graphics API. The latest iteration is currently available on Android, iOS, Windows, MacOS, and Linux.
