Sony is apparently making a truly wireless earbuds that are built for gamers. This new hearables will be for its PlayStation 5 console. But despite being gaming earbuds, the device will still offer a premium audio experience. So here are all the details.

According to a new report, the Japanese tech giant is working on a new pair of gaming earbuds that have been codenamed Project Nomad. These are a pair on in-ear earphones that will offer a premium audio experience. Sony is a known brand in the hearables market, so its expertise will likely been seen in these upcoming earbuds as well. The report adds that the battery life on these earphone will be around five hours, which is the average with most earbuds.

This device could even rival the Apple AirPods. The AirPods offers spatial surround sound support, which the PS5 also offers. In other words, it is also possible that the new PS5 earbuds could come with this feature as well. The wireless earphones would likely house a USB Type-C port for charging. As of right now, it is unclear when Sony would launch these PS5 earbuds, although the report claims that the announcement isn’t planned for anytime this year.

Rather, the release could be set for around March or April 2024. So far, the company only offers gaming headsets that are built for the PlayStation 5 along with its InZone series.
