OnePlus V Fold just tipped for September launch with 2K display

Rumors are swirling about the upcoming release of the OnePlus V Fold. Based on DCS’s leaks, the OnePlus V Fold is expected to feature a larger, squatter form factor, in contrast to the taller and slimmer design of the Galaxy Z Fold series. The device is reportedly based on the Oppo Find N2, (You can watch our review of that phone below.) which is another foldable phone from OnePlus‘ parent company. However, the OnePlus V Fold will allegedly have a higher resolution 2K display compared to the Find N2’s FHD and QHD screens.

While the OnePlus V Fold‘s exact specs are still unconfirmed, it is expected to have some noteworthy features. The phone is likely to have a sturdy but unobtrusive hinge design, as well as Hasselblad-tuned cameras. The device will also have a faster charging feature, which is a staple of OnePlus phones. However, it remains to be seen if the V Fold will feature the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip or last year’s Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1.

If the rumors are accurate, the OnePlus V Fold could prove to be a solid rival to the Galaxy Z Fold 5. While the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is rumored to have a less obvious display crease, a 108MP main camera, and an S Pen stylus, the OnePlus V Fold’s smaller and wider form factor could make it more comfortable to use and carry around. The Google Pixel Fold is another rumored foldable phone set to launch in the spring, so the market for foldable phones is becoming increasingly competitive.
