At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023 tech event, which is going on right now, major smartphone brands are making new announcements. In January, Nothing CEO and co-founder Carl Pei confirmed that the brand is working on its next smartphone. He also revealed that it will be more premium than the Nothing Phone (1) from last year. Now, at MWC 2023, Pei revealed that the Nothing Phone (2) will feature a flagship chipset.
To recall, the Nothing Phone (1), which debuted as the company’s first smartphone last year, came equipped with the Snapdragon 778G chipset. Nothing confirmed that the Phone (2) will be equipped with a Snapdragon 8-series chipset at MWC 2023.
This indicates that the Nothing Phone (2) may feature the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, or an entirely new 8-series chipset, which may debut later this year. However, the inclusion of the Snapdragon 8-series is a clear hint that the Phone (2) will offer much better performance than its predecessor.
Nothing Phone (2) Specifications (Rumored)
Unfortunately, Nothing has not confirmed anything else about on the specifications of the Phone (2). A recent leak revealed that it has the A065 model number. It is expected to come equipped with 12 GB of RAM, virtual RAM, and 256 GB of storage. It is likely to pack a 5,000mAh battery and will continue to feature a 120Hz AMOLED display.
The device is expected to launch in the third quarter of this year. As Pei said earlier, the company will focus on the US market this year.
Nothing also revealed that its next product will launch in March. It is unclear what this device could be.
