The consumer electronics company, Nothing, which was established by Carl Pei, is preparing to release the second version of their true wireless earbuds, called the Nothing Ear (2), on March 22. The company has been hinting at some of the features and details of the upcoming earbuds on their official website and social media.

In an interview with Forbes, Carl Pei confirmed that the upcoming Nothing Ear (2) earbuds will have an improved IP54 rating for water and dust resistance. This is an upgrade from the IPX4 rating of the previous version, Nothing Ear (1). Additionally, the teaser also revealed that the new earbuds will support LHDC 5.0 codec, which allows for high-resolution audio.

Nothing’s website has released another teaser, which displays an image of a beetle with see-through wings, suggesting the possible design of the upcoming earbuds. As per reports, the Nothing Ear (2) earbuds will have a transparent body that exposes the internal components, akin to the Ear (1) version. The earbuds will also support Bluetooth Multipoint connectivity, enabling them to connect with two devices at the same time.

Promotional posters have leaked some additional details regarding the specifications of the Nothing Ear (2). These earbuds will feature a 10mm dynamic driver, touch controls, active noise cancellation, wireless charging, and a battery life of up to 36 hours with the case.

The Nothing Ear (2) is anticipated to rival other high-end true wireless earbuds currently available in the market, including the Apple AirPods Pro, Sony WF-1000XM4, and Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro.
