Oppo has recently filed a new patent application for a folding screen opening and closing structure and electronic equipment. The patent abstract shows that the application provides a touch module and an electronic device system that includes a rather interesting feature – touch components that provide a physical touch operation effect similar to that of a piano key. This could be used to offer a more satisfying and enjoyable user experience for those using devices with folding displays.

OPPO piano touch module

As can be seen in the sketch provided with the abstract, the touch component is arranged on the second side of the assembly bracket. It includes a mounting part arranged on the second side of the assembly bracket and a button provided on the side of the mounting part away from the assembly bracket. One end of the button is connected to the installation part, and the other end can be docked with or separated from the installation part. When docked, the button can realize touch operation on the first side of the assembly bracket through the assembly bracket.

In simpler terms, Oppo has come up with a new idea to create a touch module that feels like playing a piano key. It works by having touch components on one side of a bracket, and a button on the other. When you press the button, the touch components give a physical touch experience like pressing a piano key. This will make using electronic devices feel even better and could be especially useful for devices with folding screens.

It is unclear at this stage how Oppo plans to utilize this new technology. It is likely to still be in the research and development phase and may take some time before we see a device with this technology implemented.
