Sony has launched a new vlogging camera with a full-frame sensor. It is the Sony ZV-E1 and this new model sits at the top of the company’s ZV line. The latest offering has a compact form factor and is ideal for vloggers. Read on to know what it offers out of the box.

The Sony ZV-E1 is touted to be the world’s smallest and lightest full-frame vlog camera with an interchangeable lens. This makes it ideal for handheld shooting as well as for gimbal and drone mounting. The device has a side-opening vari-angle 3-inch LCD screen with support for touch controls. The camera features a dust and moisture-resistant design for shooting in challenging conditions. There is also a dedicated zoom lever on the top of the grip.

The Sony ZV-E1 is equipped with a 12.1MP full-frame sensor delivering a 15+ stops dynamic range. It has a BIONIC XR image-processing engine for remarkable performance. The camera is compatible with all Sony’s E-mount lenses. There is also a 5-axis in-body image stabilization that is said to reduce camera shake in the footage.

The Sony ZV-E1 is capable of shooting 10-bit 4K videos at 60fps. Support for 4K at 120fps is promised as a part of the future firmware update. There is a Cinemascope aspect ratio feature that puts Black bars around the 16:9 frame to create 21:9 without requiring any editing. The camera packs a host of Sony’s software features like Multiple Face Recognition, Framing Stabiliser, Auto Microphone, and Real-Time Recognition AF.

Connectivity options on the Sony ZV-E1 include a single SD card slot, WiFi, Bluetooth, mini HDMI port, and a 3.5mm jack.

The Sony ZV-E1 is priced at $2,199 for body-only whereas it costs $2,499 with the 28-60mm F4.5-5.6 zoom lens.
