Insta360 has unveiled its first portable and versatile smartphone gimbal, the Insta360 Flow. The gimbal is AI-powered and its AI architecture combines with the in-built stabilization on the device. The Insta360 Flow is the company’s heralding entry into the action-cam market. The Flow has third-gen Deep Tracking functionality and its motors are also capable of rapid deployment.
The Insta360 Flow is entering a niche segment of the gimbal market with its release. While the Sony ZV-E1 is high up as the leading all-in-one content creation cam, the Flow provides equally great optics, enhanced with AI. It is being propped as the best-existing mobile camera system augmented by the AI tracking stabilizer. It also features Deep Track 3.0, using AI to keep the subject fully focused on the shot. The Insta360 app further extends the functionality of the gimbal. You can use the app to edit and highlight-reel suggestions.
The Insta360 Flow is capable of a 360-degree spin of the smartphone it holds using the 360 Panorama mode. The Flow has a partially transparent build that integrates its selfie telescope and tripod, together with its Smartwheel controls. The physical smart-wheel controls of the Flow are intuitive in operation. The gimbal has a 2,900mAh battery that can sustain it for up to 12 hours. It can be charged via USB-C and the mounted smartphone can be recharged via its port if needed.
The Insta360 Flow smartphone gimbal is available in the US for $159 via Amazon. This new motorized mobile photography gadget may be available in other markets subsequently.
