Xiaomi has partnered with Kinbor to bring a refreshed version of the Inkpalm Mini 2. Kinbor is a digital stationery company and the new model comes with significant improvements over the first-generation Inkpalm Mini 2. Although the hardware is retained, the new Mini 2 comes with some additional functionality and features.

The extras in the new Inkpalm Mini 2 include a luggage tag, stickers with an owl reading books, and a durable traveling pouch that can be attached to your shoulder with a shoulder harness. The traveling pouch is made of super high-grade plastic and the extras also include a ledger with a pen for taking notes or drawing.

As per its hardware, the Inkpalm Mini 2 has a 5.2-inch E INK Carta HD e-paper screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. This translates into a pixel density of 284 ppi and the mini e-reader runs on Android 8.1. Users can install third-party apps of their choice on the Inkpalm Mini 2. The apps can be updated via F-Droid or Amazon App Store. There is also a dedicated e-reading app that can help you read ebooks in English but the Inkpalm Mini 2 is based in Chinese.

The Xiaomi Inkpalm Mini 2 has 24 white and amber LED lights for reading seamlessly in different lighting situations including at night. It weighs 115g and is very convenient to carry around. It has a quad-core 1.8GHz processor with 1GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The gadget is powered by a 1,400mAh battery which is charged via its USB-C port. The Inkpalm Mini 2 has both Bluetooth 5.0 and WiFi connectivity while power and volume buttons are on the side.

The InkPalm Mini 2 is the smallest e-reader in the market but it remains to be seen the kind of reception it will get. It is available in limited quantity and can be ordered via the Good e-Reader store for $249.99.
