After announcing the release of the ThinkPhone by Motorola at CES 2023, Lenovo has confirmed its plans to introduce the smartphone to the US market. The company had previously stated its intention to launch the phone in various regions, including Australia, Europe, the Middle East, the US, and select Asian countries. However, it had not disclosed the official pricing and release date for each region.
Following its launch in the UK with a price tag of £899.99, Lenovo (parent company of Motorola) has decided to offer the ThinkPhone at a more affordable price of US$699.99 in the US market. This new price point makes it significantly cheaper compared to UK pricing and will be a welcomed move by budget-conscious consumers. Check out the specs of the ThinkPhone below.
Lenovo ThinkPhone specs
The Lenovo ThinkPhone is equipped with a 6.6-inch OLED display that offers an FHD+ resolution of 2400×1080 pixels and a 144Hz refresh rate, providing smooth and vibrant visuals. The display also supports HDR10+ for an enhanced viewing experience. The smartphone is powered by the capable Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, which is paired with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage, allowing for smooth multitasking and sufficient storage for apps and media files.
For photography, the Lenovo ThinkPhone boasts a 50MP f/1.8 main camera with PDAF and OIS for sharp and detailed images. It also has a 13MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera with Macro Vision and a 32MP selfie camera with autofocus. The device is MIL-STD 810H and IP68 certified, making it water-resistant and durable against extreme temperatures and vibrations. The ThinkPhone also packs a 5,000mAh battery that supports 68W wired charging and 15W wireless charging and comes with a wired charger included in the box.
The ThinkPhone also offers seamless integration with ThinkPad laptops. It allows users to transfer various files, including text, photos, and documents, between the devices through drag and drop. The phone can also be used as a webcam on the ThinkPad, share notifications, and run any Android app on the laptop’s screen. The Lenovo ThinkPhone packs many useful features that make it an excellent option for both personal and professional use.
