Redmi recently confirmed that it will announce the Redmi Note 12R Pro smartphone on April 29 in China. The brand’s poster revealed some of its most important features, including its rear design, and colour options. According to a new report by Xiaomiui, the Redmi Note 12R Pro will be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 12 5G, which is already available in the Chinese market.

The company has already confirmed that the Redmi Note 12R Pro will come in a single configuration of 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. On the other hand, the existing Note 12 5G comes in three RAM variants, such as 4 GB, 6 GB, and 8 GB. All of them come with 128 GB of storage. The other specifications will remain identical on both smartphones.

The Redmi Note 12R Pro 5G will feature a 6.67-inch Samsung AMOLED display that offers an FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 1200 nits of brightness. It will have an 8-megapixel front camera, and a 48-megapixel (main) + 2-megapixel (depth) dual-camera system. It remains to be seen whether the device will come preloaded with the MIUI 14-based Android 13.

The Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chipset-powered device will ship with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. The device will house a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. It will offer other features, such as a microSD card slot, a side-facing fingerprint scanner, NFC, a USB-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack, and an IP53-rated chassis. It will arrive in shades like black, white, and gold. At present, there is no information available on the price of the device.
