Pixel 7a to offer camera upgrades and wireless charging

The upcoming Pixel 7a will be almost the same as the Pixel 6a in terms of form factor despite featuring a revamped design matching the mainline Pixel 7 series. Because it will retain the compact 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED display but with an upgraded 90Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, it will house a Tensor G2 chipset and will retain 18W wired charging support and an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance. Additionally, it will have support for wireless charging.

Most importantly, the Pixel 7a will arrive with an upgraded camera system. The rear dual camera setup will be headed by a 64MP primary sensor and a 13MP ultra-wide. On the front, it will sport another 13MP shooter. These cameras will support Super Res Zoom (up to 8x) and Real Tone for skin colors.

The device will come with the usual software features, such as call screening, crystal-clear audio, photo unblur, magic eraser, night sight, and VPN by Google One.

Finally, the phone will be available in three colors (Carbon, Arctic Blue, Cotton, and Coral). It will only ship with a Quick Switch adaptor, 1m USB Type-C to Type-C cable, and a SIM card tool. Thus, you will have to buy the charger separately.

The Pixel 7a is tipped to cost under $500. It is also rumored to be the last Pixel a series smartphone.
