The feature is Powered by Google Bard AI

“Help me write” is an intuitive feature designed to empower Gmail users with AI-generated drafts that seamlessly incorporate relevant details from received emails. By clicking on the pencil and Bard sparkle icon adjacent to the send button, users can initiate the writing assistance process. This feature shines in its ability to quickly generate a comprehensive message based on user prompts.

During the live demonstration, a user was seen composing a response to an airline, requesting a full refund for a canceled flight. By simply inserting the prompt, “ask for a full refund for this canceled flight,” the “Help me write” feature intelligently analyzed the email from the airline and generated a complete draft. This integration of AI technology significantly reduces the time and effort required to construct well-crafted messages, ensuring effective communication while maximizing productivity.

Google’s “Help me write” feature doesn’t stop at generating drafts. It goes a step further by providing users with a “Refine” option, allowing them to adjust and personalize the wording of the AI-generated message. The refine function offers various options, including formalize, elaborate, shorten, and even an intriguing “I’m Feeling Lucky” choice. This versatility enables users to tailor the drafts according to their communication style and preferences, ultimately ensuring a more genuine and engaging message.

Google plans to integrate the “Help me write” feature into its Workspace suite, further enhancing the overall productivity and user experience within Gmail. As part of their commitment to continuous improvement, this update demonstrates Google’s dedication to leveraging AI technology to simplify everyday tasks and foster efficient communication workflows.
