Samsung has just announced two new smartphone model that are built specifically for the military. The company has launched the new Galaxy S23 Tactical Edition and the Galaxy XCover 6 Pro Tactical Edition that are military ready and built for durability in extreme conditions. So let’s have a look.

Previously, the South Korean tech giant had announced the Galaxy S20 Tactical Edition, which saw great success. This is likely due to high end specs and robust build quality that can survive harsh environments. The company the device is “supporting thousands of DOD personnel across all service branches and has proven itself in a wide range of assignments and environments”. Based on official notes, the latest Galaxy S23 and Galaxy XCover 6 Pro Tactical Edition will not be sold to mass consumers.

According to known tipster Anthony, the new smartphones will offer various new features like Android Team Awareness Kit, Battlefield Assisted Trauma Distributed Observation Kit, Samsung Knox & Knox Dual Data at Rest, and military-grade protective case that can be worn on the chest. Talking about the specs of the device, the two devices arrive with various notable features like Night Vision Mode, Stealth Mode, and more.

The XCover 6 Pro has been tested with MIL-STD-810H and a 1.5 meter drop. IT also comes with IP68 water and dust resistance as well as a removable battery pack for quick battery change on the go. On the other hand, the Galaxy S23 Tactical Edition comes with high-resolution cameras for improved photography and videography. Furthermore, despite its military-grade build, it features high-end flagship features like Dynamic 120Hz refresh rate AMOLED displays and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
