Back in March, Redmi launched the Redmi 12C smartphone in India. It is offered in two models, 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. The brand has now announced that it will be launching another configuration of the deivce which will have more storage and will also be faster.

It is currently unclear what new configuration Redmi will launch the device in. It is possible that it could be a 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage or 8GB of RAM paired with 256GB. Considering that the Redmi 12C is a budget smartphone starting at just Rs 8,999, an 8GB + 256GB storage option is highly unlikely. Let’s look at the specs of the deivce.

Redmi 12C specs

The Redmi 12C smartphone boasts a large 6.71-inch IPS LCD panel that delivers an HD+ resolution of 1650 x 720 pixels. With a 20.6:9 aspect ratio, 500 nits of brightness, a 1500:1 contrast ratio, and a 70 percent NTSC color gamut, the display offers a visually pleasing experience. Running on the Android 12 operating system, the device features the MIUI 13 overlay, which includes the MIUI dialer instead of the Google dialer.

Powering the Redmi 12C is the Helio G85 chipset, accompanied by up to 6 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128 GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. Additionally, it provides the option of expanding storage through a dedicated microSD card slot, ensuring ample space for users’ files and media.

In terms of security, the Redmi 12C offers both face unlock and a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, enabling convenient and secure access to the device. For photography enthusiasts, it houses a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls, while the back features a 50-megapixel main camera, a depth sensor, and an LED flash, allowing for high-quality photos and capturing depth information.

The device is equipped with a substantial 5,000mAh battery that supports 10W charging. In terms of connectivity, the Redmi 12C offers dual SIM functionality, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, a microUSB port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack, ensuring seamless connectivity options for users.
