In January of this year, details about the JioPhone 5G were made known, unveiling its complete specifications. The phone is anticipated to be released as India’s most budget-friendly 5G device. Recently, an unannounced JioPhone 5G unit was obtained by a Twitter user, who not only shared live images of the device but also provided some insights into its expected launch date and price.

The new leak reveals that the JioPhone 5G will be released in India between Diwali and the New Year. This indicates that the phone will be available for purchase in the country in the last quarter of this year.

It is likely that the JioPhone 5G will be priced under Rs 10,000 (~$122), which means that it may arrive as the most affordable 5G phone in India. The source is not clear whether the device features a Unisoc chip or a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC. However, the leak states that the phone is equipped with a 5-megapixel front camera and a 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual-camera system on the back.

The handset shown in the leaked live shots appears to be a prototype of the JioPhone 5G. On the front, it features a waterdrop notch display, and its back panel has a vertical dual-camera setup followed by an LED flash and a Jio logo towards the centre. The text “ultimate speed, unlimited experiences” is imprinted at the bottom of the back panel.
