Xiaomi’s newly launched smartphone under the Redmi brand, dubbed Redmi Note 12R, is now finally available for purchase in its home country China.
The Redmi Note 12R goes on sale in China today (i.e., 30th June) for the starting price of 1,099 yuan, roughly converting to $152.
The smartphone features a 6.79-inch LCD panel with a centered punch-hole for housing the camera sensor. It offers a Full HD+ screen resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and DC Dimming.
Under the hood, the device is powered by the newly announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, offering 5G connectivity. It packs up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage.
In the camera department, there’s a dual-camera setup on the back consisting of a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front side, there’s a 5-megapixel snapper for taking selfies and video calling.
The phone runs the Android 13 operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s own MIUI 14 custom user interface on top. The device is powered by a 5,000mAh battery which comes with support for 18W charging.
