OnePlus has just began rolling out a new OyxgenOS update for two of its older generation flagship smartphone models. This includes the new OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro, which are now receiving the incremental update.

OnePlus 8 series gets the July 2023 security patch update

The Chinese smartphone maker had first unveiled the OnePlus 8 series back in April 2020. And now, the two devices are receiving the OxygenOS 13.1.0.581 update. This is a minor upgrade that brings some minor improvements and the July 2023 security patch, which makes the older phones more secure. The update features improvement in the stability and “expands the compatibility of the NFC function.”

It appears that the update is strictly being rolled out in the Indian market at the moment. The company further advised users that face bugs or any other issues to open the Google Dialer and type in “*#800#”. After this, the OnePlus 8 owners can find a menu that let’s you report any the issues they are facing. Talking about more these devices, these were powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC and originally ran on Android 10 OS based OxygenOS 10 out of the box.

The higher end OnePlus 8 Pro model sports a tall 6.78 inch Fluid AMOLED display and features a 48 megapixel triple camera setup, while the base variant has a smaller 6.55 inch Fluid AMOLED and a 48 megapixel triple cameras for photography. Earlier this week, the brand released a similar OxygenOS update for the OnePlus 9R as well.
