Polestar is an automotive brand that specializes in the production of electric vehicles. It was founded in 2017 as a joint venture between Volvo Car Group and Zhejiang Geely Holding. Known for its sleek and sustainable designs, Polestar is looking to lead the way in the transition to a more environmentally friendly future by offering high-performance electric cars with cutting-edge technology, rivalling other bigger companies. The renowned electric vehicle brand recently announced impressive global delivery figures for the second quarter of 2023. The company successfully delivered approximately 15,800 electric cars during this period, marking a remarkable 36% increase compared to the previous year and representing the second-best quarter in its history.

This marked a 36 per cent increase over the last year’s numbers for the company

The positive results were attributed to robust deliveries in June, which saw a staggering 73% year-over-year growth, although the exact number was not disclosed. In the first half of 2023, Polestar achieved a noteworthy milestone by delivering nearly 28,000 electric vehicles to customers worldwide. This represents a substantial 32% increase from the previous year, reinforcing the brand’s upward trajectory. Furthermore, Polestar expressed its commitment to delivering between 60,000 and 70,000 vehicles by the end of the year, albeit adjusting its original target of around 80,000 units.

To accomplish this revised goal, Polestar wants to leverage the launch of the upgraded Polestar 2 model with an extended driving range. The company also plans to introduce over 20 new permanent Polestar Spaces, transitioning from temporary locations to larger facilities capable of accommodating their expanding lineup. Additionally, Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath expressed enthusiasm for the impending arrival of the first Polestar 3 display cars in their Spaces, which will further amplify the brand’s performance-driven electric portfolio.

Looking ahead, Polestar anticipates a significant boost with the forthcoming launch of the all-new Polestar 3, a locally produced electric SUV set to hit the market in late 2023 or early 2024. The brand’s lineup is expected to expand further in the coming years, encompassing models such as the Polestar 4, a performance SUV coupe, the Polestar 5, a 4-door GT based on the Precept concept, and the Polestar 6, a 2+2 hard-top convertible inspired by the Polestar O2 concept car, projected to arrive in 2026.
