The Exynos chipsets have powered Samsung smartphones that range from entry-level to even its flagship models. However, they have always been compared to rivals like Qualcomm and have faced criticism over the performance disparity in devices that came in Exynos and Snapdragon-powered variants. But it appears that the brand is looking to redeem itself with the next-gen Exynos 2400 SoC.

Samsung Exynos 2400 to feature 10 CPU cores

The news arrives from known tipster RGcloudS who shared the information on Twitter. This leak states that the South Korean tech giant is still looking to finalize the configuration and packaging information regarding the chip but it is confirmed to feature notable upgrades in performance over its predecessor. The improvements will have it compete with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC on the Galaxy S24 lineup.

The tipster further added that the Exynos 2400 will feature a 10-core CPU configuration or a Deca core processor. Although, RGcloudS noted that not all ten cores will be running simultaneously and the number of cores that are used will be optimized for different tasks. Initial rumors hinted at the Exynos 2400 being produced on the Fo-WLP packaging method, which helps make the chip thinner and more energy efficient. However, the tipster claims that it has now been downgraded to the I-Cube process.

Samsung has confirmed that the chip will be launched with the Galaxy S24 series, with rumors claiming benchmark scores nearing the Apple M2 chipset. Regardless, the new chip will likely be an attempt to clear out the bad reputation the Exynos processors have garnered in recent years.
