Xiaomi has officially confirmed the global debut of its upcoming Redmi 12 5G. The upcoming smartphone will be first unveiled globally in India at the start of next month. So here are all the details.
Redmi 12 5G India Launch
The Chinese tech giant shared a tweet on X (formerly Twitter) which confirmed the global launch date of the Redmi 12 5G. The device will first be announced in the Indian market, with a new microsite also also being launched on the company’s official website. As per the teaser, the new handset will ‘Join the 5G Revolution’. The tweet also carries a short video that showcases the Redmi 12 5G from the sides.
Redmi 12 5G Specifications
Based on what we know so far, the smartphone will sport a flat rear panel and sides. It will also come in multiple color options, including Moonstone Silver, Pastel Blue, and Jade Black. Redmi 12 5G recently surfaced on GeekBench as well carrying the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC. This processor was paired with 8GB of RAM and the device was listed running on Android 13 OS.
Other storage options might include a 6GB + 128GB configuration, which will reportedly cost around 13,999 INR. The global version of the Redmi 12 5G is expected to be rebranded version of the Redmi Note 12R, which is also available in China. Apart from this model, the brand is also gearing up to launch the new Redmi 12 4G, Redmi Watch 3 Active, and Xiaomi Smart TV X Series in India.
