Automobile giant Cadillac has marked a significant milestone with the launch of its first fully electric SUV, the 2025 Escalade IQ, which comes with a giant price tag of over $130,000. This innovative creation is equipped with GM’s Ultium batteries, ensuring a 450-mile range, making it an exciting addition to the electric vehicle market.

The car offers 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes of charging time

What sets the Escalade IQ apart from its gas-powered predecessors is its size, nearly equaling the length of the long-wheelbase Escalade ESV. Despite its size, Cadillac confidently claims it to be “the most aerodynamic full-size SUV ever produced by GM.” Powering this electric marvel is a 24-module Ultium battery that produces over 200kWh of energy. It supports 800-volt DC fast charging, offering up to 100 miles of range with just 10 minutes of charging on 350-kW DC charging stations. The AC charging option provides an estimated 37 miles of range per hour.

The Escalade IQ’s performance doesn’t falter, with two electric motors delivering 680 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque in standard mode. Activate the Velocity Max mode, and the figures jump to 750 hp and 785 lb-ft, enabling a 0 to 60mph sprint in under five seconds.

Dimension-wise, the Escalade IQ measures 19 feet in length, eight feet in width, and over six feet in height, providing a spacious interior of 119.2 cubic feet of cargo volume with the second and third-row seats folded. Its towing capacity reaches up to 8,000 pounds. For tech enthusiasts, the SUV features a 55-inch dual-screen LED display running Android Automotive OS, complete with Google Assistant, Google Maps, and the Play Store. Audiophiles will appreciate the higher-end models’ AKG 40-speaker array for a 360-degree audio experience.

Set to begin production next summer at Detroit’s Factory Zero assembly center, the 2025 Escalade IQ is not just a luxurious and powerful vehicle; it’s a statement in Cadillac’s commitment to electrification. With its size, features, and technological advancements, it’s looking to join other electric vehicles on the road.
