Sony’s PlayStation 5 was released in early November 2020. It recently took over the gaming market by releasing its PS exclusive games like God Of War Ragnarok, Ghost of Tsushima, and Demon’s Souls remake. Sony is yet to announce its PlayStation 5 Slim variant, but according to the leaks that have emerged online, we can finally see what the PlayStation 5 Slim might look like.

In a recent tweet by Andrew Marmo, we can see from the image what might potentially be the new PlayStation 5 Slim. In the image, we can see that the PS5 Slim will maintain a similar design but with a slightly reduced height (by 5cm) compared to the original PlayStation 5, which is not much. The most obvious change we can see from the image is split cover plates, which provide a more high-end look to the device. Besides the split cover plates, the device is rumored to feature a dual USB-C port. For those unaware, the current PlayStation 5 has only one USB-C port in front. Sony has not made a statement yet as to when we can expect the release of the PS5 Slim, but documents released during its legal battle against the FTC for the accusation of Activision Blizzard indicate that the console will be launching around the end of the year.

Sony’s PlayStation 5 Slim: Pricing and Availability

We’ll need to await Sony’s official announcement to learn about the device’s price and availability. However, according to speculations, the device’s cost might align with the current $400 price of the PlayStation 5 Digital (825GB storage). The package is expected to include 1 controller, 1 power cable, 1 HDMI cable, and a USB-C cable for charging the controller.

In related news, Sony has released its new PS5 Spider-Man 2 bundle available for pre-order, which is roughly $600. Sony may announce its new PS5 Slim soon, so stay tuned for more news.
