Today, Xu Qi, the President of Realme China, took to Weibo to share an update about the upcoming Realme GT 5. He released a poster asking, “Why haven’t any of the over 30 second-generation Snapdragon 8 flagship models truly reached the pinnacle of performance?” (machine translated).
It is now evident that the Realme GT5 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. Furthermore, a new Weibo post by tipster Digital Chat Station claims that the GT 5 will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, 24GB of RAM, and super-fast 240W charging. He added that the device will be equipped with a 1.5K resolution display (OLED) that supports high-frequency dimming.

As per reports, the Realme GT 5 is said to be equipped with a 6.74-inch OLED panel that offers a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. For selfies, the device will feature a 16-megapixel front camera. The rear camera setup of the phone will have a Sony IMX890 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS support. It will be accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered Realme GT 5 will come with 16GB / 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and 128GB / 256GB / 512GB / 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The GT 5 will come in two battery variants, each offering a different charging capability. The GT 5 variant with a 4600mAh battery will support 240W fast charging, while its 5200mAh battery variant will offer 150W fast charging.
Realme is still silent on the launch date of the Realme GT 5. With August already halfway through and no major teaser from the brand, it appears that the GT 5 may debut by the end of the month in China.
