Earlier, we reported that Sony was gearing up to launch a new camera on 29th August. Finally, the day is here, and the company has announced two new cameras in the market: the Sony Alpha 7C II and the Sony Alpha 7C R. The full specifications and price of these cameras are provided below.
Sony Alpha 7C II Specifications and Price
The Sony Alpha 7C II comes with a 33MP Exmor R CMOS sensor. It features BIONZ XR processing for excellent image quality and a dedicated AI processor for advanced subject recognition. It offers 4k movie recording up to 60p/50p and 5-axis optical image stabilization. The camera also provides a high-resolution XGA OLED electronic viewfinder with a 120fps display.
In other features, the AI-based Auto framing allows you to adjust framing to highlight your subject automatically. With durability in mind, the camera’s design is dust and moisture-resistant, accompanied by its magnesium alloy chassis. You can connect the device easily to a smartphone with Sony’s Creators app. Lastly, the device comes with a price tag of $2,199.99 (the a7C retails for around $1700 right now) with two available colors, Black and Silver.
Sony Alpha 7CR Specifications and Price
Sony Alpha 7CR is a compact, lightweight camera with a 61MP Exmor R image sensor and BIONZ XR processing. It offers 5-axis optical image stabilization with up to 7 steps of compensation and compatibility with over 70-E mount lenses. The camera supports an XGA OLED electronic viewfinder with 120fps.
Like the Sony 7C II, this device also includes AI-based Auto Framing accompanied by its Focus bracketing (Create images with incredible depth of focus), Focus Map (display assist for shooting video), and Flicker suppression (suppression from artificial lighting). The device comes with a price tag of $2,999.99 with two available colors, Black and Silver.
One thing to note is that the cameras have yet to be made available for purchase. It is said that the Sony Alpha 7C II will be available in September, and the Sony Alpha 7CR will be available in October.
