Audio accessories manufacturer JBL has demonstrated its new smart speakers with support for both Alexa and Google Assistant. The new JBL Authentics-branded smart speakers are the first smart speakers from Harman that simultaneously support the two Voice Assistants.

The new JBL retro-style smart speakers were part of the impressive products announced by JBL at IFA 2023 Berlin. The JBL Authentics 200, portable Authentics 300, and Authentics 500 are priced between $329.99 and $699.99. You can use any of the assistants intermittently without any hitches and this is remarkable. It is noted that the latest Sonos speakers do not feature this dual voice assistant support.

The integration of Google Assistant and Amazon’s Alexa on the JBL Authentics smart speakers is remarkable. The trajectory of Google and Amazon has been one of stern competition. So the new speakers could mark a departure from the previous non-cooperating stance of both tech giants. The integration of the two independent voice assistants is helped by the Multi-Agent Experience (MAX) Toolkit. The smart speakers feature an audio focus software that prevents both assistants from speaking simultaneously. The speakers offer premium functionality including Dolby Atmos, Bluetooth, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The implication of dual functionality of Alexa and Google Assistant with the Authentics speakers means easier integration in multi-assistant households. The JBL Authentics smart speakers will arrive in Europe on September 15 and in America on September 17. The new speakers can be purchased via JBL.com while other sales outlets will follow subsequently.
