The latest version of the JBL Boombox 3 and Charge 5 speakers now support wireless connectivity. The Charge 5 and Boombox portable speakers now offer improved connectivity and reduced disruptions when streaming content from mobile devices. The new speakers also support HD audio with 24-bit/ 96kHz playback.

The JBL Boombox 3 Wi-Fi and JBL Charge 5 Wi-Fi portable speakers will be available in Europe first. Apart from Wi-Fi connectivity, there is little difference between the new version of the speakers and their predecessors. With the extended range inherent in Wi-Fi, you can now connect a device that is farther away from the speaker than previously. The gadgets also now support Apple AirPlay, Alexa MRM, and Google Chromecast. The models also support Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity and self-tuning for optimized sound, among others.

JBL BoomBox 3 WiFi

The Boombox 3 Wi-Fi has five speakers, a subwoofer, two tweeters, and two mid-range drivers. It is compatible with Dolby Atmos and the speaker offers up to 24 hours of playback on a single charge. The JBL Charge 5 Wi-Fi has two passive bass radiators, a tweeter, and a long excursion driver. The speaker can operate for up to 20 hours on a single charge. The JBL Charge 5 and Boombox 3 Wi-Fi versions both have black casings accentuated by gold color.

The new speakers are expected to enter the European market in the coming days. The retail price of the Boombox 3 Wi-Fi is €599 while the Charge 5 Wi-Fi will cost €249. There are no indications at this time on the availability details of the models in other markets.
