WordPad X post

A recent post on X (formally Twitter) by Xeno indicates that the WordPad will no longer receive any updates from Microsoft and will be removed in a future release of Windows. The post shares a link that takes you to the official Microsoft Website, where the details are mentioned. It is yet to be confirmed when the future windows will be released. However, Leaks suggests that Windows 12 will most likely be released in late 2024.

The post also confirms that the company recommends using Microsoft Word for rich text documents like .doc and .rtf types or Notepad for plain text documents like .txt. It is worth mentioning that Windows 12 is currently being developed and is expected to bring significant platform upgrades. This will give us plenty of time to switch and get used to different text editors, such as MS Word (Microsoft Word).
