Ren stated, “Huawei will save talent, not US dollars.” This statement underscores the company’s commitment to fostering internal expertise and innovation. He encouraged Huawei to focus on leading in specific business areas globally while expanding the boundaries of research and development.
Despite relinquishing day-to-day management to the board of directors, Ren Zhengfei continues to play a pivotal role as a spiritual leader within the company. His daughter, Sabrina Meng Wanzhou, serves as the rotating chairman from April to September.
Huawei’s journey has been marked by US sanctions, beginning in 2019. Nevertheless, the company remains a symbol of China’s technological prowess and its pursuit of self-sufficiency. It’s a natural process,” Ren remarked.

This release is noteworthy as it follows a three-year gap since the company’s last 5G-equipped handset launch. The difficulty in achieving this milestone is amplified by the escalated trade restrictions imposed by the United States.
