540Hz monitors are starting to hit the market. We recently reported that Asus is gearing up to launch the ROG PG248QP 540Hz gaming monitor in the upcoming weeks. While there’s no confirmation from the Taiwanese company, Acer has gone ahead and put its own 540Hz monitor on the shelves of Chinese e-commerce stores. The new Acer XV242F monitor brings a 24.1-inch display with a 1080p resolution. Here are the details.

This monitor features a 24.1-inch TN panel with a 1080p resolution, boasting an impressive 540Hz refresh rate and a rapid 1ms GtG response time (with the potential for an even faster 0.1ms). The resolution is not the best out there and that’s because the monitor is designed for those who prefer the speed of the panel and its low latency over high resolution.

It also offers a bright display with 400 nits of brightness and covers 99% of the sRGB color gamut. Acer XV242F is equipped with DP 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 interfaces, ensuring versatile connectivity options. Additionally, it includes built-in 2W x 2 speakers for integrated audio capabilities. It also comes with Nvidia G-Sync, a type of display technology that is used to counter screen tearing, stuttering, and juddering, especially during fast-paced games or videos.

Acer XV242F is currently listed in China on Taobao third-party stores. The monitor is available for purchase in the country for 4,999 Yuan ($686). For comparison, the Asus ROG PG248QP is reported to cost around $899. Currently, the Acer XV242F is not available for purchase in the global market. We’ll keep you posted about its future availability.
