The Huawei Watch Ultimate is one of the most premium smartwatches from the Chinese manufacturer. It was launched in Europe earlier this year, and now the company has unveiled a new edition. The Watch Ultimate now comes in gold, and it’s not just any gold color we’re talking about; Huawei has used 18K gold on the smartwatch. Here are the details.

The Watch Ultimate Gold Edition is Huawei’s first-ever gold smartwatch. As can be seen in the images, the wearable comes with a gold bezel and a gold crown with 3D trapezoidal patterns, which are said to be carved through the diamond-cut engraving process.

Huawei details it also engraved a gold PVD titanium strap with an adjustable butterfly buckle. The Watch uses a nano-tech Ceramic frame, which is made of nano-microcrystalline ceramic using more than 24 processing techniques. The company names CNC precision machining and fine engraving as some of the techniques involved in the making of the Huawei Watch Ultimate Gold edition. The new edition is said to be 6 to 7 times harder than stainless steel, providing scratch and corrosion resistance properties.

The technical specifications of the wearable remain the same. You get a 1.5-inch AMOLED display with a 450 x 450 pixels resolution and a variable refresh rate between 1 and 60 Hz using LTPO backplane technology. Huawei claims the Watch Ultimate’s 530mAh battery will last up to 14 days between charges or up to 8 days with heavy usage. It supports Huawei’s exercise and health apps, as well as NFC and ECG technologies.

Huawei Watch Ultimate Gold Edition will go on sale in October but there’s no exact date available. It comes priced at €2999 ($3198) in Europe, earning the status of a jewelry.
