Apple’s annual fall event last week saw the arrival of the iPhone 15 series and Apple Watch Series 9. The Cupertino-based tech giant transitioned to the USB-C port from the age-old lightning port on the latest generation flagship smartphones. Now, noted tech analyst Mark Gurman is back with new developments in his weekly Power On newsletter. According to him, Apple’s 2023 lineup is seen as a temporary solution until more significant innovations arrive next year with USB-C integration in more devices.

Apple Magic Accessories With USB-C expected next month

Gurman reveals that the Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, and Magic Keyboard are expected to get a USB-C port. These will be launched alongside the iMac next month. The standard AirPods with USB-C charging case is expected in 2024. The company already launched the second-generation AirPods Pro with USB-C at the fall event.

Apart from the Magic accessories, Gurman predicts that the AirPods Max will also adopt the USB-C port. However, the exact launch timeline of the over-ear headphones remains unknown. The analyst also foresees the return of the MagSafe Battery Pack and MagSafe Duo Charger with USB-C charging ports.

With the iPhone 15 lineup having received the USB-C, Apple seems to be further transitioning its entire product lineup to the connectivity port.

The report also adds that the 10th anniversary Apple Watch called the Watch Sereis X will debut sometime in 2024 or 2025. It is expected to feature a blood pressure monitor and AI-powered health coaching service. Gurman also predicts that next year will see the arrival of a redesigned iPad Pro with an OLED display and improved accessories, 3nm M3 processor, a bigger display on iPhone 16, and Apple GPT.
