The Vivo X100 series has long been in rumors and it seems we are finally nearing its launch. The expected Vivo X100 and X100 Pro models should launch sometime in November, however, an official confirmation is awaited. Both devices have been reported to bring some solid camera features and now a tipster says they will pack a chipset powerful enough to rival Apple’s A17 Pro SoC. Here are the details.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the Vivo X100 series will feature the Dimensity 9300 chipset under the hood, which is claimed to be MediaTek’s most powerful 5G chipset to date. Based on the information available thus far, MediaTek has packed a significant amount of firepower into the Dimensity 9300. It is expected to consist of only powerful cores, meaning the chipset could incorporate an octa-core CPU with a 4x Cortex-X4 + 4x Cortex-A720 architecture. It’s worth noting the chipset does not include a Cortex-A520.

Reportedly, the chip will be manufactured using the N4P process, a refined 4 nm next-gen solution that offers performance boosts and improved power efficiency compared to the N5 and N4 processes. Although the A17 Pro chip found inside Apple iPhone Pro models is manufactured on TSMC’s 3nm process, the Dimensity 9300 is said to be a worthy rival in terms of performance and efficiency.

Since there are no benchmarking scores available for the Dimensity 9300, it’s best to take these rumors with a pinch of salt. Regarding the Vivo X100 series, the company has confirmed that it will be unveiled before the end of this year, which is quite obvious. Rumors suggest a launch in November, so we should expect an official confirmation next month.
