Android 14 is almost here, and Google is expected to release the official stable update soon. Samsung is also working on its OneUI 6 skin based on Android 14, which is known for offering additional features to the stock OS. One of the new feature in Samsung OneUI 6 is Screen Hide, which allows users to turn off the display while still using an app. This can be useful for saving battery life, especially when using audio-based apps such as music streaming apps or podcasts.

Samsung Screen Hide Feature

To use the Screen Hide feature, users must first download and install the Good Guardians app from the Galaxy Store.

Once installed, open the app and tap on “Battery Guardian.” Then, open the “Screen Hide” option. To add the Screen Hide feature to the Quick Settings panel, tap on the “Add to Quick Settings Panel” option and press “Add.”

Once the Screen Hide feature has been added to the Quick Settings panel, users can easily turn off the display while using an app by opening the Quick Settings panel and tapping on the Screen Hide icon. The display will then be turned off and the app will continue to run in the background.

When the Screen Hide feature is in use, the display will be kept in a low-power mode and information about the currently running app will be briefly presented. To turn on the display again, users can simply double-tap on the screen or press the power button.

The Screen Hide feature is currently in beta and may cause some issues while using it. However, it is a promising new feature that can help users save battery life on their Samsung devices.
