Tecno launched its first clamshell foldable in India earlier this month. It aims to make folding phones more accessible to the public with its affordable price tag. In fact, it is one of the cheapest flip phones you can grab right now. Tecno Phantom V Flip brings an LTPO AMOLED display and a MediaTek Dimensity 8050 5G chipset. The company has confirmed the device will go on sale in India tomorrow. Here’s what you should know.
Tecno Phantom V Flip could be your next foldable
Tecno Phantom V Flip will go on sale in India on October 1 through Amazon. During the initial sale, it will be available in both color options, Iconic Black and Mystic Dawn, at a special price of Rs. 49,999 ($598).
As far as the specifications are concerned, Tecno Phantom V Flip brings a 1.32-inch cover display with a 466 x 466 resolution AMOLED panel. On the inside, the phone features a 6.9-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2460 pixels) flexible LTPO AMOLED panel with a 20.5:9 aspect ratio, 1000 nits peak brightness, and up to 120Hz refresh rate.
The Phantom V Flip 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8050 5G chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. And hey this is not a new chipset. MediaTek recently chose to make its portfolio confusing and rebranded most of its chips. The Dimensity 8050 is essentially a rebranded Dimensity 1300 SoC, which is made on a TSMC’s N6 (6nm) technology.
Further, the flip phone gets a 64MP primary shooter with a 13MP ultrawide sensor and a 32MP selfie camera. It is fueled by a 4,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging support which is claimed to fill up 33% of the battery in just 10 minutes.
