The Xiaomi Mijia Smart Electric Thermos 5L, recently introduced through crowdfunding, is now available for pre-orders. Pre-ordering is open from today until October 11th, with the final payment period extending until October 14th. The initial price was 299 yuan ($41), but a deposit secures a reduced pre-sale price of 279 yuan ($38).
If you are not familiar with an electric thermos, it is also called an electric hot water dispenser or electric kettle thermos designed for heating and keeping hot water at a preferred temperature. It typically includes heating elements, insulation, and temperature control. Key characteristics and uses of electric thermoses include their ability to rapidly heat and maintain hot water for various purposes, making them versatile and convenient kitchen appliances.

This electric thermos offers some exciting features geared towards convenience and safety. It boasts a high-quality “baby-grade” glass inner liner and a 316 stainless steel heating plate, ensuring both top-notch quality and safety. Not to mention, it comes with a robust hard glass water outlet pipe for added functionality.
One of its standout features is the one-click extension for boiling time, which helps eliminate residual chlorine in water for healthier consumption. With a maximum power of 1600W, it can boil 5 liters of water in just 18 minutes, demonstrating impressive efficiency.
Xiaomi has equipped this thermos with a cooling circulation airway technology, which is claimed to halve the waiting time required for boiling water to cool down. This could be a significant time-saver in various scenarios.
The thermos offers users three boiling modes: tap water mode for boiling and keeping warm, pure water mode for direct warming, and cool boiled water mode for both boiling and cooling. This versatility caters to different user preferences and needs.

The device even comes with an adaptive boiling point feature that automatically determines the local boiling point after the initial boil, with the option for re-evaluation after a device reset. Moreover, it can be connected to the Xiaomi Home App, allowing users to customize water temperature and manage various functions using their smartphones, greatly enhancing the overall user experience.
