BYD Unveils Next-Gen Electric City Bus and Double-Decker Coach

BYD has unveiled two new electric bus innovations at the Busworld trade fair in Brussels, Belgium: an electric double-decker coach and a new generation of its 12-metre city bus. The new electric double-decker coach is approximately 14 meters long and has a maximum capacity of 80 passengers. It is powered by BYD’s Blade Battery, which is integrated into the chassis to save space. The coach has a range of up to 600 kilometers on a single charge.

The new generation of the eBus B12 is the first model under BYD’s own brand to feature the integrated Blade Battery chassis. The eBus B12 has a maximum battery capacity of 500 kWh and a range of up to 600 kilometers. Both of the new buses are equipped with BYD’s latest electric vehicle technology, including its intelligent driving assistance system and its vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication system.

The new electric double-decker coach is expected to be available in Europe in early 2024. The new generation of the eBus B12 is expected to be available in Europe in mid-2024. BYD’s new electric buses are expected to play a major role in the transition to a more sustainable transportation system.
