OnePlus is gearing up to announce its first-ever foldable phone, the OnePlus Open tomorrow in the global markets. The brand is also reportedly working on its next-generation flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 12. It is expected to launch by the end of this year. The smartphone had appeared in updated leaked renders last month. Renowned tipster Digital Chat Station has been sharing key specifications of the OnePlus 12. Now he is back with new information.

OnePlus 12 will have a premium display

DCS says that the high-end customized screen on the OnePlus 12 is codenamed ‘Dongfang’. It will offer a 2K display resolution with curved edges as seen in the leaked renders. The tipster claims that the display on the upcoming OnePlus flagship will be better than Samsung’s AMOLED panels. The screen on the OnePlus 12 will offer premium color, brightness, and eye protection making it the top one in the industry. The device is also tipped to pack many exclusive technologies but they remain unknown at the moment.

Previously, DCS had revealed that the OnePlus 12 will feature a 6.82-inch curved OLED screen bearing a resolution of 3,168 x 1,440 pixels. It will have a 120Hz LTPO refresh rate and 2160Hz PWM dimming for enhanced visual comfort. On the optics front, the smartphone will reportedly sport a 50MP 1/1.4-inch OIS-enabled primary sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 64MP OIS periscope unit.

The leaked renders revealed that the OnePlus 12 will have an identical design compared to its previous flagships including a half-pill-shaped island in a glossy finish that stretches from the side frame, a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout, and an alert slider on the right side.
