Samsung is reportedly developing its first 3nm chip, which is expected to power the next-gen Galaxy Watch 7 series. The news comes from the Korean media outlet Biz Daily, which reported that the Galaxy Watch 7 will be powered by Samsung’s first 3nm-based Exynos solution, likely dubbed the “Exynos W940.”

This will be a significant upgrade for Samsung smartwatches, which have used Exynos chips based on the 5nm process since the Galaxy Watch 4 came out in 2021.

There are a few reasons why the upgrade to a 3nm chip is crucial for Samsung wearable. More importantly, smaller chips are more energy-efficient than larger chips, and they take up less space.
