Samsung and Huawei aren’t simply known names in the smartphone market, but also major players in the foldable smartphone segment. These two were some of the first to launch devices with a flexible display, and now, it appears that the companies could be planning to unveil affordable models as early as next year.

Samsung and Huawei mid-range foldable phones arriving in 2024

According to a TrendForce report, the South and Chinese tech giant are planning on reducing the price barriers to their foldable phone offerings. This would make them more accessible to a wider audience and broaden their presence in the market. The report adds that both Huawei and Samsung could be preparing to unveil foldable devices sometime in 2024.

Furthermore, Samsung Electronics is working on a new foldable handset that will target the mid-range segment. Unfortunately, the finer details like pricing or specifications are still unclear. Since the term mid-range was used, we can expect the device to cost around 500 US Dollars or lower. Making such phones more affordable will help boost the sales of such devices and popularize foldable phones in general. Many consumers will be more likely to buy such a device as typical foldable phones fall in the premium or ultra premium category.

Notably, this is also in line with one of our previous reports, which claims that the company could launch a new foldable phone from within its popular FE (Fan Edition) branding. Keep in mind that this is just an unconfirmed report, so take this report with a pinch of salt for now.
