The latest Tesla Model X fire incident occurred in Hollywood, Florida when a couple saw their prized EV slide down a trailer attached to their boat. The driver of the Model X was trying to launch a jet ski into the water. After launching the jet ski into the water, things began to literally heat up. The woman driving the car became stuck inside after warning messages began appearing on the dashboard. The woman’s husband thereafter came to her rescue and assisted her out of the vehicle.

A report by the Hollywood Professional Firefighters indicated that the car lost traction and slid into the inter-coastal waters. The saltwater then reportedly caused a short circuit with the car’s electronics, leading to a fire. The ensuing fire burned for an extended period, according to the report. The fire continued to burn underwater until it extinguished itself. The car had to be loaded carefully on a special carrier to the Impound lot. The car is to be kept under observation and isolated with the possibility of being reignited.

The Model X was successfully evacuated and there were no reported injuries from the incident. Tesla has not provided an official response to the Model X fire incident at this time.
