On December 4, OnePlus will host a major celebration in China to mark its tenth anniversary. The company has confirmed that it will launch the new flagship OnePlus 12 to mark its anniversary.
Meanwhile, the event will feature China’s first look at the newest OnePlus 12 smartphone.
Now, a new leak from a reliable source has surfaced on X (previously Twitter), where the tipster suggests that the OnePlus 12 5G will hit the global market in January 2024. Unfortunately, a specific date for the launch is unknown.
Max Jambor on X (previously Twitter) double-quoted the term “Series” in the post, which makes us think that more than one phone may be released at the event. It’s possible that the OnePlus 12R could be the second product in this lineup.
For your reference, the OnePlus 11R and the standard OnePlus 11 were introduced together in India last year. Consequently, the OnePlus Ace 3 could get a rebadge as the 12R for certain regions.
OnePlus 12 specifications: Expected
The OnePlus 12 is expected to have a 6.82-inch BOE X1 OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and 2K resolution. Similar to the iQOO 12 series and the Xiaomi 14 series, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor will be included in the OnePlus 12 lineup.
The primary camera will reportedly be paired with a 64MP OmniVision OV64B periscope telephoto camera with a 3x optical zoom and a 48-megapixel IMX581 ultra-wide lens. The phone is anticipated to have a 32-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies.
The company has already said that the HyperTone camera optimizations and the LYT-T808 primary camera sensor will be the focal points of its rear camera arrangement.
It is anticipated that the new OP 12’s highest configuration model may come with 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage and 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM. It is probably going to have a 5,400mAh battery that can be charged at 50W wireless and 100W wired. It should run on Android 14 based on ColorOS 14.
