Huawei recently held a launch event unveiling new products in the global market like the FreeClip open-back earphones and the MatePad Pro 13.2 tablet. Along with that, the brand has also brought over the MateBook D 16 2024 laptops to Europe, which were previously launched in China.

The 2024 Huawei MateBook D 16 showcases a roomy 16-inch IPS display, presenting a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels and a brightness level of 300 nits. Featuring slim bezels, the display achieves an impressive 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. Weighing a mere 1.68kg, the laptop’s lightweight design has successfully undergone rigorous durability testing. Noteworthy features include a dedicated numeric keypad and a power button embedded with a fingerprint scanner to enhance security.

On the multimedia front, the MateBook D 16 is equipped with a 1080p webcam, dual speakers, and microphones. The laptop’s touchpad supports five-point touch for improved usability. In terms of connectivity, it boasts a metamaterial antenna that claims to enhance download speeds and extend the connection range up to 270 meters. Powering the device are 13th-generation Intel Core processors, ranging up to Core i9. The Core i5 variant incorporates Intel UHD graphics, while the Core i7-13700H and i9-13900H variants feature the Intel Iris Xe GPU. The lowest-end i5 option comes with the Core i5-12450H. The MateBook D 16 is equipped with 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB SSD for storage. With up to a 70Wh battery cell, the laptop ensures extended usage without compromising on performance.

Pricing & availability

In the Eurozone, the base configuration of the 2024 MateBook D16 is priced at €999, offering 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. The top-tier configuration, priced at €1,399, includes a 1 TB SSD. Availability starts from January 8, and shipments are said to commence from January 22.
