The Vivo S18 series has just been announced in the brand’s home market of China. The new lineup consists of the Vivo S18, S18 Pro, and S18e. So now, let’s have a look at the specifications, features, and more regarding the base S18 and the higher end S18 Pro models.

Vivo S18 & Vivo S18 Pro: Design and Display

With the new S18 models, Vivo is refreshing the design of its S series of smartphones. The rear retains a rectangular camera module for both the S18 and S18 Pro but the image sensor alignment is different than before. There are two modules in the back with the top half featuring the cameras, while the bottom housing a twin LED lighting setup. This includes a regular dual tone flash in the module and the second is a larger soft LED lighting that runs along the border of the bottom half similar to a ring light.

The back also seems to have a feather-like pattern on the rear panel with a plastic middle frame. Both models also feature a thin and light body that measures just 7.45mm in thickness and weighs 185.8 grams in weight (187.8 grams for the Pro). Meanwhile, the front on both devices sports a tall 6.78-inch curved OLED display that offers Full HD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 2800 nits of peak brightness. The panel also houses a center aligned punch hole cutout for the S18 and S18 Pro.

Specifications and Camera

Vivo recently revealed the chipsets of the entire S18 series. Under the hood, the Vivo S18 is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC, while the S18 Pro features the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset. These processors will be paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. It is worth noting that the Pro features LPDDR5X RAM and the vanilla version comes with LPDDR4X memory. The Vivo S18 and S18 Pro will also run on the Android 14 OS based OriginOS 4 custom skin out of the box.

Notably, the S18 lineup supports up to 16GB of virtual RAM expansion as well as 50GB of storage compression. A large 5,000mAh battery pack that powers the S18 and S18 Pro models, which supports 80W fast charging. As per official claims, the devices can last for up to 13.5 hours on a single full charge, with the cells having a 4 year life. The company has also promised free 4 years of battery replacement as well. Other notable features include Bluetooth 5.4/Bluetooth 5.3, in-display fingerprint scanner, various audio codecs support, facial recognition, and more.

For photography, the Vivo S18 Pro houses a 50-megapixel Sony IMX920 primary sensor, a 50-megapixel Samsung JNI ultra wide angle lens, and a 12-megapixel IMX663 telephoto shooter that offers 2x optical zoom. To recall, this is the primary sensor is the same as the one that is equipped on the flagship Vivo X100. On the other hand, the base S18 offers a 50-megapixel main camera paired with an 8-megapixel ultra wide angle shooter. Meanwhile, the front has a 50-megapixel selfie shooter.

Pricing and Availability

The Vivo S18 and S18 Pro have been announced in multiple color options, namely white, green, and black. These are also listed in various storage configurations as well. So here’s a detailed pricing breakdown:
