Vivo recently held a major launch event to introduce its new premium-mid-range lineup in China called the Vivo S18 series. Alongside the Vivo S18 and S18 Pro smartphones, the brand has also launched the Vivo S18e, a feature-packed, yet affordable alternative, compared to its premium siblings.

Compared to the S18, and S18 Pro, the S18e has a distinct design language, opting for a circular camera module with a flat body and flat sides. The front features a punch-hole display flanked by reasonably sized bezels. Overall, the device is on the slimmer side, measuring 7.69mm, and weighing around 193 grams. It comes with IP54 water and dust resistance.

Vivo S18e

The Vivo S18e boasts a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 processor that supports 5G connectivity. It comes in a single LPDDR4X 12GB RAM option, along with two UFS 2.2 memory options: 256GB and 512GB.

Running on the Android 14-based OriginOS 4 software, the Vivo S18e promises a user-friendly interface. Its 4800mAh battery is complemented by an 80W flash charging capability The device features a Type-C interface for both charging and headphone connectivity.

The 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2400×1080 provides vibrant visuals, paired with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1800 nits. The front camera, featuring 16MP, ensures clear selfies, while the rear camera setup includes an OIS-enabled 50MP main lens and a 2MP blur lens for versatile photography options.

Additional features include NFC support for convenient wireless transactions and multiple unlocking methods such as facial recognition and in-screen fingerprints.

Vivo S18e pricing & availability

The Vivo S18e comes in three color options: Starry Night Black, Xuaguang Purple, and Cloud Shabai. The 12GB RAM + 256GB storage config has a price tag of 2,099 yuan ($296), whereas the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage option costs 2,299 yuan ($325). The smartphone will go on sale starting January 13, 2024, along with the Vivo S18 Pro.
