Meta will soon launch the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses according to sources. The new smart glasses from Meta also come with AI functionality. The Facebook owner Meta, recently announced that select users in the US can activate “Hey Meta” virtual assistant that will use the glasses camera and microphones to evaluate and comment on objects in the user’s field of vision.

Meta Ray Ban Smart Glasses

Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg demonstrated the AI functionality of the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses in a video posted on Instagram. Zuckerberg showed that the device was being tested on multimodal AI. The Multimodal AI tech allows the device to both see and hear, as the Instagram Reel video showed its impressive AI performance. The CEO says that “Hey Meta” can recommend even what to wear, as it describes what it sees and picks out the needed details. The testing phase of the Meta AI in the Ray-Ban smart glasses will be launched via an opt-in early access program in the US.

Meta says that it is also rolling out the ability to ask Meta AI real-time information to all Ray-Ban Meta devices in the US. The initiative is powered partly by Bing. The models are offered as Meta Wayfarer and Meta Headliner in Meta online stores for $299 each. Both options are offered in seven color options including matte black, glossy, shiny Jeans, and shiny Caramel. The lenses come in clear, green, amber, blue or brown. The clear lens option comes either with or without a blue light filter.

Meta is launching the pre-release version of the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses with AI capabilities. It will be available to select users in the US. The full-release optics are expected to be provided subsequently.
