The upcoming OnePlus phones, namely the Ace 3 and the 12R, are said to be the same devices targeted towards different markets. While the Ace 3 is expected to launch on Jan. 4 in China, the 12R is confirmed to debut alongside the OnePlus 12 on January 23rd in the global market. A new leak, courtesy of reliable leaker Max Jambor, has revealed the key specifications of the 12R. Back in November, OnePlus confirmed the Ace 3 moniker, but it did not launch alongside the OnePlus 12, which launched earlier this month in China. Now that the expected launch date of the Ace 3 is nearing, the brand has released a poster to tease its arrival.

In a new tweet, Jambor mentioned the key specifications of the OnePlus 12R that are already known. However, what’s new in the leak is that he has revealed that the 12R will be available in 8 GB / 16 GB LPDDR5x RAM variants and 128 GB (UFS 3.1) / 256 GB (UFS 4.0) storage options. He also revealed that the device will arrive in two colors, namely Iron Gray and Cool Blue.

The rest of the specifications of the Ace 3 / 12R are no secret as it is expected to feature a 6.78-inch ProXDR LTPO 4.0 OLED panel with curved edges that offer 1.5K resolution, a 1Hz-120Hz refresh rate, and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered device may ship with a 5500mAh battery that supports 100W SuperVOOC charging.

For photography, it is expected to ship with a 16-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel (Sony IMX890, OIS) + 8-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 2-megapixel (macro) triple camera system. It will arrive with Android 14 overlaid with ColorOS 14 (China) or OxygenOS 14 (global).
