Huawei has unveiled a Collector Edition of its popular FreeBuds Pro 3 wireless headphones, just in time to celebrate the Year of the Dragon (2024). The Year of the Dragon is the fifth year in the 12-year Chinese zodiac cycle, which is associated with power, strength, and good luck. Dragons are also seen as symbols of perseverance and transformation.

The FreeBuds Pro 3 Year of the Dragon Collector Edition features an Xianglong totem design, which is a stylized depiction of a Chinese dragon. The headphones also have a breathing light that lights up the dragon’s eye when opening the box. 

The earbuds will also display an exclusive Xianglong headset pop-up window when you connect them to the device. The Huawei Mate60 or Mate X5 series phones even display a special “Lossless” gold label. 

The FreeBuds Pro 3 are equipped with a super-sensing acoustic dual unit with a Halbach magnet array tweeter and an 11 mm super-magnetic woofer. The official claims that “the bass dives down to 14 Hz and the treble reaches up to 48 kHz.”

The headphones also come with Spatial Audio 2.0, which uses a high-resolution spatial model algorithm to increase resolution accuracy by 40 degrees and reduce latency by 25%. 

They are also equipped with Huawei Smart Dynamic Noise Cancellation 3.0, which is said to be able to accurately identify and calculate the noise inside and outside the ear in real-time and dynamically customize the noise reduction effect according to local conditions.

The FreeBuds Pro 3 has a music playback life of up to 33 hours, IP54 dustproof and water splash resistance, and supports intelligent experiences such as offline search, smooth connection to multiple devices, and smart broadcasting.

The Huawei FreeBuds Pro 3 “Year of the Dragon” Collector Edition headphones are available for pre-sale at Huawei Mall and major e-commerce stores at 10:08 (Beijing time) today, with the first sales at 10:08 (Beijing time) on January 1, 2024. The price is 1,499 yuan.
