OnePlus is set to debut the OnePlus Ace 3 smartphone on January 4 in China. The device is said to be later rebranded as the OnePlus 12R for the global market. Ahead of the Chinese launch, the brand has teased the image samples of the OnePlus Ace 3.
The images reveal natural colors, with excellent light and shadow processing. Compared to the Ace 2, the Ace 3 produces better portraits, with balanced contrast. These improvements are largely credited to the “ultra-clear image quality algorithm” and “super light and shadow image algorithm”. That being said, the phone will also feature new image sensors as well.
Earlier reports indicated that the phone would boast a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor and a 2-megapixel macro camera. Initial rumors also suggested the inclusion of a 32-megapixel telephoto camera, but OnePlus has reportedly scrapped this idea.
Apart from that, the Ace 3 is anticipated to showcase a 6.78-inch BOE X1 8T LTPO display with a 1.5K resolution (2780 x 1264 pixels), 2160Hz PWM dimming, and likely a 120Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood, the Ace 3 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and pack a robust 5,500mAh battery that supports 100W charging. According to other sources, it is rumored to offer a maximum of 16 GB of RAM and storage options of up to 1 TB.
