Xiaomi teases HyperOS arrival in India

Xiaomi took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce that HyperOS is coming to India. The brand is set to reveal more details in the coming days. Although the concrete timeline of rollout and list of eligible devices remains unclear, the teaser indeed confirms that the new operating system may launch soon in the country. It’s likely that Xiaomi may announce details about HyperOS at the Redmi Note 13 series launch event on January 4. There’s no word whether the upcoming smartphones will ship with MIUI or the new HyperOS out of the box.

Xiaomi teasing HyperOS’s arrival in India comes after the company officially announced its global rollout last month. Eight Xiaomi and Redmi devices and one POCO phone are set to receive the operating system in the first quarter of 2024.

The HyperOS relies on Linux and Xiaomi’s self-developed Vela system. It is lightweight in size and packs AI features as well as performance and security improvements. The new OS offers a refined control centre, more customization options, a dedicated TEE security system, cross-device collaboration, AI features like image search, artwork creation, and more.
